Controller not working when playing FiveM through Steam?

For whatever reason, I’m unable to get the controller to work whenever I need to play on a FiveM server where logging into Steam is required. I own a Social Club version of the game and use an Xbox 360 Wired gamepad. The controller works fine whenever I play without Steam, but is undetected at all with FiveM through Steam. Playing GTA V through Steam without FiveM works without any issue.

I’m not a fan of playing with keyboard and mouse, is there any way around this?

Update: Even a complete re-install (deleting App Data and reinstalling) did not fix the issue. I have no idea what’s going on?
