Also add what you already tried so far.

  • Restarted
  • Reinstalled FiveM
  • Removed any USB peripherals
  • Rolled back to an older version of my server resources
  • Deleted the User Music folder

After taking a short break from FiveM (about 3 weeks), I came back to a server that hasn’t been changed (I know because it’s mine) and I’m getting these horrible hangs every few seconds. The audio keeps playing, but the CPU usage of FiveM drops to below 20%. This goes on for a few seconds and the game comes back.

Is this the result of a recent FiveM or Windows update? Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Any help would be appreciated. At this point the game is borderline unplayable, and nothing has been changed on my server or client between a few weeks ago and now. :’(

UPDATE: I had a friend try it out on his machine (same server), and he wasn’t experiencing this problem. So I guess the issue is on my end.

Ensure GPU drivers are updated. Running the server on the same computer as the client is generally ill-advised, but as you can tell it’s a client-side problem.

Also try normal GTA V story mode or removing any client addons (graphics, etc) you have.

Story Mode works flawlessly.

GPU drivers are up to date but I’ll run a DDU tomorrow just to be sure there’s nothing up there.

I run my server on a dedicated machine, and when I test on a local server it normally runs just fine. I tried both.

There are no client-side addons either, and I deleted the plugins just to see. No dice. :frowning:

DDU did the trick.

@mattzero what is DDU? And can u tell me how to fix this problem. I also having the same problem.

DDU wipes all of your GPU drivers so you can install fresh ones. Even if you have the most up-to-date drivers, there can still be problems with their installation. Look it up on Google, it’s easy to find.

Just make sure you download the latest drivers for your GPU before you use it, or you might have a hard time afterwards.
