Hello, I have a few questions regarding the most effective way to host a FiveM server.

First, what is the best Linux type to run?
Second, could you provide any helpful tutorials on how to install a FiveM server on this OS?
Third, what plugins should you run on a basic FiveM RP server?
Fourth, could you provide any helpful tutorials on how to install ESX with a linux and mySQL server?

Thanks in advance.

Any. Many people prefer Ubuntu as a first Linux Distro (it may be slightly easier to use or something) but, they all basically the same (with different software pre-installed).

It’s literally as simple as following the wiki:
https://wiki.fivem.net/wiki/Running_FXServer

Read the ESX installation guide…

No place like documentation to find this information: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/linux-installation.html

Thanks for the quick reply @Havoc! I am very new to most of this. Is it possible to run off a external mySQL via PhpMyAdmin or the like?

If you mean is it possible to have the MySQL server on a separate server to the FiveM server then, yes. This is also possible.

yes it is - we also do it for our customer servers with an external MariaDB 10.1 and MySQL-Async.
