I keep getting this error I had it once on the 20th when I first installed but it went away (no idea why) during the update today I got the same error I have tried to reinstall but again the same error. current date is 22/12/2016 at 18:09 GMT+1
any help would be appreciated

Error 5 means access denied, which can happen if the file is locked by another process (or the access rights are fucked, which would be surprising). Make sure there are no “rogue” FiveReborn/Citizen processes running in the background. Perhaps try to restart your computer, or try to run FiveReborn from another folder.
I had the same error and it started working when i turned off my virus protection software. I use 360 Total Security
