Cannot direct connect to local server via external IP

Connecting to my own local server via my external IP address (192.x.x.x or 127.0.0.1 work fine)

Ports are forwarded correctly, checked with yougotsignal and other online port scanners. Server console shows I’m connecting but never happens. I can connect to the remote servers the community I develop for has. What am I missing?

You can’t connect to a local server with the external IP address.

you can you just need to edit your hosts file.

example: if your server local ip is 192.168.2.16 you would add 192.168.2.16 213.224.112.53 last ip being the external ip.

This is how i do it so i can use my external ip and domains within my own network.
